Description
Bonnet Cotton Ygueule is a red wine from the Beaujolais region of France, made mainly from Gamay, although some vintages also include other varieties such as Mondeuse and Chardonnay. The wine is produced from young vineyards planted on alluvial and stony soils, located in the hills of Brouilly.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a carbonic maceration process, where the whole grapes ferment spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts, which gives the wine a fresh and natural character. Ageing takes place in concrete tanks for approximately 7 months, which helps to soften the tannins without losing the wine's vibrant profile.
Taste
Bonnet Cotton Ygueule stands out for its fruity and energetic character, with intense notes of strawberries, raspberries and pomegranate. Despite its apparent simplicity, it has a remarkable complexity that is expressed in a balance between freshness and acidity. The light, slightly cloudy body of the Ygueule makes it a perfect choice for those looking for a wine that is easy to drink, but with an aromatic profile interesting enough to be thought-provoking. It is an ideal wine to pair with simple foods such as pizza or white meats, as its acidity and fruity notes complement a wide range of flavours.
