Buy Wine from Colet Vins
Since 1783, the Colet family has been cultivating the land in the heart of the Penedès. Generations of farmers who worked as tenant farmers until, just over three decades ago, Sergi Colet' s father finally bought the family estate. It was a radical turnaround: they went from producing volume for third parties to farming with purpose, with identity. The agricultural legacy was transformed into a winemaking philosophy centred on the origin.
The vineyard as an expression of the landscape
Today, on an estate surrounded by forests and olive groves to the Southwest of Barcelona, Colet is synonymous with authenticity. Its vineyards, with north-west exposure and marked temperature differences between day and night, offer wines of great freshness and fragrance, where the place speaks for itself.
Training, return and French vision
Sergi Colet - after experiences in Gramona, a master's degree in Champagne and work at Pol Roger -returned home in 1998 with a clear vision: to work as a French Château, only with his own grapes, and always under 100% organic practices. Thus was born the project that today forms part of the DO Clàssic Penedès, where all wineries must produce with organically grown grapes, follow the traditional method and respect a minimum of 15 months in the bottle. Colet goes further: each label includes the vintage and the date of disgorgement, a transparency that few others dare to offer.
A philosophy of minimal intervention
Here, the wine is born in the vineyard. The winery does not intervene more than necessary: it bottles what the land gives, without dogmas or artifice. No trend-following for the sake of it; if wood is used, it is by necessity. If there is spontaneous fermentation, it is because the vintage demands it. Colet listens to the vineyard rather than imposing a style.
Diverse soils, wines with character
The varied and lively soils bring a richness to each plot: limestone, clay, loose stone. This natural mosaic results in wines that are vibrant, complex and deeply rooted in the terroir. Each bottle is a faithful portrait of the Penedès: nervous citrus, herbal freshness, precise texture. But more than tasting notes, Colet conveys character.
Silence that leaves a mark
Today, Colet represents a way of making wine that does not shout, but leaves a mark. His style is sober, clear, honest. He does not seek to impress, but to connect. And it succeeds: whoever tastes a Colet wine not only discovers the Penedès, but also a story of family, land and conviction.
To drink Colet is to travel. It is to return to the origin with each glass
