Buy Wine from Bodegas Emilio Moro
Bodega Emilio Moro is one of the most renowned wineries in Ribera del Duero. This winery represents the identity of three generations of the same family who share the same passion for making wines with their own personality, soul and passion.
Location
Bodegas Emilio Moro is located in the town of Pesquera de Duero, in a privileged enclave of the Ribera del Duero known as the Golden Mile.
History
Founded in 1987, the history of Bodega Emilio Moro is made up of three generations, with the third generation currently running the winery.
In 1891 the grandfather was born and in 1932 Emilio Moro, the father, was born, both immersed in a wine-growing environment, treading grapes and racking wine in his hometown, Pesquera de Duero, in the province of Valladolid.
Later, Emilio Moro taught his sons José and Javier Moro his knowledge of the world of wine. Both are the third generation to run the winery, currently maintaining more than 200 hectares of vineyards.
Vineyards
The first generation of the Moro family planted different varieties and over the years it was found that the variety best suited to the climate and soil was Tempranillo.
During the last century, the Moro family's vineyards were recovered, and so they have been maintained so that after careful selection, they are used to graft all the vines.
It should be noted that the most important for Bodegas Emilio Moro are their vineyards grafted with the purest clone of Tempranillo, also called Tinto Fino. This variety provides small grapes and small clusters that produce robust and elegant wines. Magnificent!
Applied viticultural techniques
The vineyards and the winery are a place where traditional methods and high technology are combined to obtain the best possible results.
Nowadays, techniques such as ploughing, uncovered manual harvesting and technology in the cellar are equally important for the winery. Everything is used with great respect for the qualities of the grape varieties in the process of making unforgettable wines.
Wines
The bodega's wines have their own identity, producing traditional Ribera del Duero reds with a modern twist.
These wines have impressive qualities, are full of colour and are very expressive. The composition of the soils, the climate, the grape variety and the choice of wood are respected in their production with a well-interpreted modern oenology.
They are complex, penetrating, velvety wines that reflect the characteristics of each vineyard. Among the most renowned wines of the winery are: Finca Resalso - Emilio Moro - Malleolus - Malleolus Valderramiro - Malleolus Sanchomartín - Clon de la Familia.
Emilio Moro is an emblematic winery that represents quality in Ribera del Duero. There are 200 hectares of vineyards where the autochthonous Tinta del País variety reigns supreme.
