Buy Wine with Garnacha Tintorera
Garnacha Tintorera is a variety sourced in the French department of l'Hérault, where Henri Bouschet created it crossing Garnacha and Petit Bouschet varieties.
It has been given this name because the Garnacha Tintorera berries flesh is deep red. It has early budding and mid-early ripening so it is likely to suffer spring frosts. Due to its remarkable vigour, short pruning is highly recommended. The outputs are moderate but regular in dry climates (it is sensitive to wind and drought damage). Still it has good endurance against powdery mildew but weak in front of downy mildew, excoriosis, flavescence dorée and ring rot.
Garnacha Tintorera wines are deep coloured, and under controlled performance, are able to yield smooth fruity wines.
