Description
Goyo García is a renowned winegrower from Ribera del Duero, whose family owns the Bodega Valduero winery. He considers himself a "rebel" because he has tried to leave aside modern viticulture techniques.
Using traditional methods, he has recovered several vineyards, and has produced incredible organic wines such as the red wine Goyo García Viadero Finca El Peruco, which is ideal to accompany game meats at work lunches and family gatherings.
Winemaking
The Goyo García wine is made from Tempranillo and Albillo grapes grown on the flat soils of white sands and pebbles of Finca El Peruco, located at an altitude of over 900 metres above sea level.
The grapes are harvested by hand when the bunches reach their optimum ripeness. The bunches are then cold macerated for 15 days, de-stemmed and pressed without crushing.
Alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts lasts 30 days, and then the wine is aged for three years in used French oak barrels of 8 to 10 years old, in a traditional underground stone cellar. This wine is bottled unfiltered and unclarified.
Taste
The organic red wine Goyo García Viadero Finca El Peruco, is deep and complex, with aromas of red fruits of the forest with herbaceous notes and a slightly sweet taste.
It isa very fresh and calm natural wine, which has a finish with bitter and ferrous touches, however, it is an elegant and balanced wine.
