The 2023 Ruppertsberg Village Riesling trocken opens with a remarkably coolish, pure and refined, a little crunchy bouquet with bright and elegant fruit and smoky aromas intermingled with reduced phenolic notes. Lean and elegant on the palate yet with ripe and juicy fruit, this is a very fine and elegant-finishing Riesling whose savory grip and tension will be better integrated after a few years of bottle age. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in January 2025.

Description
Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Riesling Ruppertsberg comes mainly from the Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in Ruppertsberg, as well as from young parcels from these locations. A large proportion of the grapes come from the GAISBÖHL and HOHEBURG vineyards, contributing significantly to the distinctive character of thisvillage wine (village wine as mentioned on the label).
Winemaking
The production of this wine is characterised by a meticulous manual selection of the grapes during September and early October. The vineyards for this Village-Riesling produced a yield of 50-55hl/ha. The wine has an alcohol content of 12.0% vol., an acidity of 7.7 g/l and a sugar residue of 1.0 g/l. In addition, it contains sulphites, as is common in many wines.
Taste
Ruppertsberg stands out for its attractive nose, which presents a broad spectrum of ripe stone fruits, with a hint of flint. On the palate, it surprises with impressive fruit and mineral elegance balanced by a fresh, full finish. The finish is complex, savoury and savoury.
