The 2022 Fleurie Clos de la Grand'Cour Vieilles Vignes derives from a selection of old vines from the vineyard dating back to the 1940s. Aged 11 months in recently used barrels, the wine offers aromas of pomegranates, dried rose petals, orange rind, tobacco leaves and sweet spices. It's lush on the palate, with silken concentrations of fruit that glide seamlessly throughout the mouth, with a layered mid-palate elegantly interwoven with powdery tannins, ending with a lithely textured, focused finish, inviting appreciation of the wine's multidimensional character.

Description
Domaine De La Grand Cour Fleurie Le Clos Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is an exquisite expression of the terroir of Beaujolais, France. This wine, made exclusively from Gamay grapes, comes from a 6.4 hectare plot known as Le Clos, located in the south of the Fleurie appellation, at an altitude of about 300 metres above sea level. What makes this cuvée special is its origin: the old vines of the clos, approximately 80 years old, covering 1.5 hectares of the plot.
Winemaking
The elaboration of this wine is a faithful reflection of the dedication and respect for nature that characterises Domaine de la Grand'Cour. The grapes are harvested by hand, using 20 kg perforated boxes to guarantee the integrity of the fruit. Vinification follows a carbonic maceration process with indigenous yeasts and no addition of SO2 during vinification and ageing. This natural process is complemented by 9 months of ageing in oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure to the wine.

On the nose, it offers aromas of small, crisp red fruits, with hints of liquorice, violet and iris. This Beaujolais, with an air of Côtes de Beaune, is characterised by its juiciness and silky smoothness, with a vibrant but balanced acidity. Flavours of strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant jam, violet, rose petal, mineral and earthy tones intertwine harmoniously, culminating in a finish evoking warm bread and subtle hazelnut notes.
