Description
Barranco Oscuro El Pino Rojo is a red wine from the region of La Contraviesa in Granada, Spain. This wine is made from the Pinot Noir grape variety, planted in 1996 in vineyards located at an altitude between 1280 and 1368 metres above sea level. The unique characteristics of its terroir, with lean and stony soils of schist and clay, contribute to the singularity of this wine.
Winemaking
Pino Rojo is made by spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with maceration of whole bunches. Subsequently, the wine is aged for almost a year in used European oak barrels, which gives it a complex and well-integrated structure. It should be noted that this wine is organic and is produced without the addition of chemical products, which respects and enhances the natural qualities of the grapes.

Barranco Oscuro El Pino Rojo stands out for its complex and powerful flavour, with a notable acidity that is perfectly integrated into its profile. On the nose, intense aromas of red fruits and a delicate note of black tea can be perceived. On the palate, the wine shows a well-defined tannic structure and a balance that highlights its freshness and depth. Red berry flavours combine with subtle hints of spice and an earthy touch, offering a rich and lingering taste experience.
Careful winemaking and ageing in used barrels allow the tannins to soften and the flavours to intertwine harmoniously, resulting in a wine that reflects both the typicity of Pinot Noir and the particularities of the Granada terroir. The freshness provided by the altitude of the vineyards and the balanced acidity make this wine an excellent choice to enjoy at different times, always standing out for its elegance and complexity.
