The 2013 Original 1887 Brut Nature, which specifies Vinyes Singulars de Muntanya Les Flandes on the back label, was produced with a blend of 50% Montonega (a specific strain of Parellada), 25% Macabeo and 25% Xarel.lo from old mountain vineyards at 380 meters above sea level. This was disgorged after 108 months in bottle with the lees. It has a serious, yeasty and toasty nose with complexity and nuance, with a savory note I attribute to Montonega, with more evolution and elegance. The palate is seamless and textured from the small bubbles. It has 12% alcohol and a low pH of 2.95. 2,000 bottles produced.
