Description
In the heart of Valliguières, a picturesque village in the Gard, lies Domaine du Petit Oratoire, run by passionate winemaker Lori Haon. At the tender age of 21, Lori acquired this 15-hectare domaine in 2016, later expanding it to 23 hectares, with a clear vision: to make natural wines that reflect the essence of their terroir. Her approach is based on respectful viticulture, free of chemicals and pesticides, using natural remedies such as essential oils and herbal blends to care for her vines.
Le Petit Oratoire La Partouze is a unique creation from the fusion of 13 red and white grape varieties, including Garnacha Blanca, Garnacha Gris, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne, Cariñena, Riesling, Viognier, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Merlot and Pinot Noir. These vines are grown on diverse soils ranging from limestone-bedded sands to the rare 'lauzes blanches', similar to those of nearby Tavel, and also on the unique 'Grés' soils of Souvignargues.
Winemaking
The vinification of Le Petit Oratoire La Partouze is as unique as its composition. The 13 varieties are harvested by hand and fermented together in cement vats, using indigenous yeasts and no added sulphites. Depending on the variety, techniques such as carbonic maceration or direct pressing are used, seeking to bring out the specific characteristics of each grape and achieve harmony in the whole.
Taste
In Le Petit Oratoire La Partouze, we find a wine that defies traditional categories. It is neither a conventional red, nor a white, nor a typical rosé; it is an experience in itself. On the nose, it displays an explosion of aromas of fresh red fruits and flowers, with dominant notes of strawberry and a floral touch that invites tasting. On the palate, it surprises with its freshness and vivacity, offering a light but characterful sensation, perfect to accompany Asian dishes, such as sushi, or to enjoy at a get-together with friends.
