The 2022 La Tendida is the paraje wine from a new zone of the property that was planted with Monastrell between 2006 and 2010 and around 15% Garnacha. It matured exclusively in foudre. Here, the soils are a transition between the valley and the slopes, and in the warm and dry 2022 vintage, the wine reached 15% alcohol. Not a shy red, this is round and lush, very Mediterranean, with ripe berry fruit and some slightly dusty tannins that call for food. With time in the glass, it develops notes of honey and beeswax that I sometimes find in ripe Monastrell. Warmer years need more time, and that's noticeable even in the more approachable wines like this one. 26,000 bottles produced. It was bottled at the end of March 2024.
