The 2023 Táganan Blanco didn't go through malolactic and matured in larger barrels (they are abandoning the 228-liter oak barrels), and the wine seems to have gained in freshness. It's also less reductive—volcanic, yes, but less reductive. It has 11.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.02 with 7.24 grams of acidity. It's vibrant and sharp, clean, light to medium-bodied, with purity and symmetry. This wine is going from strength to strength. 6,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.

Description
Táganan Blanco is an exceptional wine that encapsulates the essence of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. This wine is a blend of indigenous white varieties, including Marmajuelo, Malvasia, Listán Blanco, Gual, Forastera and Albillo. Each variety contributes its unique character, resulting in a wine of surprising complexity and depth.
Winemaking
The elaboration of Táganan Blanco is a careful and environmentally friendly process. Practicing organic viticulture, the grapes are grown in volcanic soils and worked by hand without the use of chemicals. The vineyards, located between 100 and 500 metres above sea level, benefit from an Atlantic climate that contributes to the wine's distinctive profile. Each parcel is vinified separately, with a percentage of the grapes undergoing skin contact, which adds additional layers of texture and flavour. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous wild yeasts, and the wine is aged for 8 months in neutral oak barrels.
Taste
Táganan Blanco is a unique sensory experience. It is characterised by smoky and saline notes, complemented by hints of lime and yellow apples. On the palate, it is rich and complex, balanced with a refreshing acidity leading to a lingering finish.
