Description
Roagna Barbaresco Gallina is a red wine that comes from one of the most prestigious wine regions in Italy: Piedmont. Specifically, this wine originates from one of the most famous vineyards located in the commune of Neive. Made from the Nebbiolo variety, this wine reflects the richness and tradition of the Barbaresco region.
The vineyard where Roagna Barbaresco Gallina is grown has particular characteristics that make it unique and special. The composition of the soil is calcareous-clayey, which gives it a solid structure and rich in minerals. However, what really stands out is the good proportion of sands present in the soil. These sands are essential to give Barbaresco its characteristic elegance and finesse.
Winemaking
Fermentation takes ten days in large wooden barrels. For this process, a pied de cuvée made from the vineyard's own indigenous yeasts is used. An outstanding technique in its production is the submerged cap technique, which can last between 60 and 70 days. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 5 years in neutral toasted oak barrels.
Taste
Roagna Barbaresco Gallina is a symphony of flavours and aromas. It is characteristically rich and fruity, with prominent notes of cherry, strawberry, rose, iron and eucalyptus. These flavours are perfectly balanced, offering a lingering boquet that enhances both the fruit and the savoury finish. In addition, exotic hints of kirsch and floral notes add a finishing touch to the palate.
