Description
Radikon Pignoli is a red wine made in the region of Venezia Giulia. This wine is made from the red grape variety Pignolo, one of the rarest and most unique grape varieties in Italy, especially located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
Winemaking
The elaboration of this wine is peculiar and requires a detailed process to obtain its unique taste and texture. After a manual harvest, the grapes are completely destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels with 45 days of maceration, accompanied by 2-3 punch-downs per day. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 6 years in old oak barrels on its fine lees, and after this period, it rests for at least 2 years in the bottle before being marketed.
Taste
Radikon Pignoli has a garnet red colour with orange reflections, noble and elegant. Its aroma is evocative, recalling notes of dried and overripe plums, followed by hints of nocino, bitter herbs and coffee. On the palate, the flavour is refined, driven by ripe, candied fruits and spices such as cardamom and pepper. Its tannic texture is regal, with a long persistence that leaves a lasting impression on the palate.
