The 2022 Pegaso Granito has a showy nose, with plenty of red raspberries, and it opens up even more in the glass. It has notes of ripe red berry fruit, flowers and aromatic herbs. It's juicy and velvety, with the frontal tannins from the granite soils. It shows the ripeness of the year with 15% alcohol but a lower pH and higher acidity (3.24 and 6.57, respectively) because of the blocking of the vines that didn't have time to burn the acidity and the cycle was shorter. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins. 5,800 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.

Description
Pegaso Granito is an exceptional wine produced in the vineyards located in Cebreros, Ávila, specifically in the areas of El Robledillo and El Mojón. This wine is made from 100% Garnacha grapes, cultivated in a traditional and organic way in very old vines and goblet trained. The soils where these vines are grown are granite of magmatic origin, located at an altitude between 800 and 1000 metres, which contributes to the minerality and structure of the wine.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes to preserve the integrity of the grapes. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in 4,000-kilogram stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing for 18 to 24 months in 600-litre French oak barrels.
Taste
Pegaso Granito stands out for its fruity and friendly profile, with a silky and delicate structure. On the nose, it presents notes of ripe wild berries, spicy nuances and aromas of aromatic Mediterranean herbs, complemented by hints of autumnal forest. On the palate, the wine shows good balance, with very fine, soft tannins and imperceptible oak, resulting in a savoury, ripe palate. The well-integrated acidity and the freshness of its flavours make this wine an excellent choice to enjoy on its own or to accompany a variety of dishes.
