Description
Niepoort Tawny Dee comes from low-yielding vineyards in the Cima Corgo region of the Douro Valley.
Winemaking
The red grape varieties used in its production include Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão and Tinta Roriz. These varieties, grown in vineyards over 30 years old, give the wine a unique complexity and depth. The ageing process in old 550-litre oak casks, for an average of three and a half years before bottling, gives the wine notes of wood and evolution, which translate into flavours and aromas that evoke dried fruits, nuts and spices.
Taste
Niepoort Tawny Dee presents itself with a red ochre colour, revealing delicate nutty aromas with a hint of dried fruits. On the palate, it is balanced, showing a fruity and juicy character that integrates perfectly with a long and spirited finish. It is a wine that combines youth and maturity, offering a taste experience full of nuances and textures.
