The 2023 Navaherreros Garnacha de Bernabeleva has a beautiful and perfumed nose that combines wild herbs, fruit and flowers with a spicy and balsamic undertone. It's supple and reveals abundant, fine-grained tannins and a long, dry finish. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.45 and 5.4 grams of acidity. It was produced with old vines, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter barrels and 3,200-liter foudres. 20,000 bottles produced.

Description
Navaherreros Tinto is a genuine representation of San Martín de Valdeiglesias, seeking to capture the very essence of this region. This wine is the result of the combination of different sites in Bernabeleva, each with its own orientations, soils and microclimates that confer a distinctive and unique character to the Garnacha grape. The diversity of these sites is reflected in the variety of vineyards, which range in age from 40 to 80 years, although some are up to 90 years old, as is the case of the vineyard curiously called "Kung Fu", which owes its name to the nickname of a farmer who was a fan of Bruce Lee's films.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by parcels, and each one is vinified and aged separately. Depending on the specific characteristics of each plot, vinification is carried out in wood, concrete or stainless steel tanks. Each tank ferments slowly, spending between 40 and 60 days on skins, and is aged individually in a combination of 500-litre barrels, stainless steel tanks and concrete tanks. After 12 months of ageing, the wine is bottled unfiltered, thus preserving its authenticity and character.

Juan Bulnes' aim with Navaherreros Tinto is to bottle the "spirit" of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. This wine highlights the Pinot Noir-like side of mountain Garnacha, offering surprising sophistication for its price. Its seductive aromas of red fruits and flowers invite a delicately layered yet crisp palate, bound by elegant, rocky tannins. The result is a wine of excellent definition, freshness and savoury finesse, culminating in a long, perfumed finish. It is a true gem that reflects the personality and terroir of the region.
