There is a 2019 Leirana M. Luisa Lazaro, a wine that was only produced in 2005 and 2013 before. They found some wines they liked in 2019, wines with vibrant acidity, deep flavors and a very stony mouthfeel, austere and mineral. This is quite different from previous vintages. It matured in oak foudre and stainless steel, 50% each, for one year. It will be produced in 2020 too, and from there on, I believe they are going to age it in oak foudre, one year in stainless steel and one year in concrete (in fact, concrete foudres!). This 2019 should be released in 2023 or so (and the 2020 is still unbottled); they are going to keep the bottles. The wine should age nicely. 2,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2021. This is a joint effort with Raúl Pérez.

Description
Leirana Mª Luisa Lázaro is a white wine of the D.O. Rías Baixas, produced by the Forjas del Salnés winery in collaboration with the renowned oenologist Raúl Pérez. This wine, produced in a very limited edition of only 2,500 bottles, is made exclusively from the Albariño grape variety. The grapes come from old vines grown in an environmentally friendly manner and harvested by hand.
Winemaking
Vinification is carried out with spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 12 months in foudres, followed by 24 months in stainless steel tanks and a further 24 months in the bottle, without malolactic fermentation.
Taste
Leirana Mª Luisa Lázaro stands out as a very aromatic white wine. Intense aromas of citrus fruits and green apple are predominant, accompanied by a vibrant acidity that provides a remarkable structure. On the palate, it has deep flavours that include a stony, mineral sensation, with a creamy profile that envelops the palate. This wine is young and, although it will develop its flavours further with time, it already offers a precise, mineral experience with every sip.
