Description

Itsasmendi Urezti is a late harvest white wine that stands out for its distinctive character and complexity. It is made from 85% Hondarrabi Zuri and 15% Izkiriot Handia or Gros Manseng, grapes harvested in the third or fourth week of November.

Winemaking

This late harvesting process allows the grapes to reach an optimum level of ripeness, resulting in a wine with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. With an alcohol content of around 12.5% and around 100 grams of residual sugar, Itsasmendi Urezti is a sweet but not cloying wine. In exceptional years, the presence of botrytis adds a unique character. The wine spends a short period in barrel before bottling, thus maintaining a fruity and direct profile.

Itsasmendi Urezti is an experience in itself. Citrus and mineral notes stand out, providing a vibrant freshness and balancing the sweetness of the wine. In addition, there are hints of honey and stone, which add a dimension of complexity and depth to the palate. The combination of these characteristics makes Itsasmendi Urezti ideal to accompany creamy desserts, where its acidity and minerality perfectly cut through the richness of the dish. Notes of syrup and pineapple are also present, providing a sweet and satisfying finish without being overwhelming.
