Description

Fontodi Case Via Syrah is a single varietal wine made entirely from Syrah grapes. The grapes come from the Case Via and Pecille vineyards, which have a southerly exposure, guaranteeing optimal ripening of the fruit. The planting density varies between 4,000 and 6,000 vines per hectare, and the Guyot training system is used for cultivation.

Winemaking

In the winery, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration of the skins for at least three weeks is carried out in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 24 months. The average annual production of this wine is approximately 5,000 bottles.

Taste

Fontodi Case Via Syrah has an intense ruby colour with violet tones. Its high robe reveals a concentrated wine, with a good body and density. Its alcohol content is 14.5%. The nose offers a blend of fresh red and black fruits , complemented by notes of vanilla and coffee. Its aromatic profile is floral, with good complexity. On the palate, it is surprising for its smoothness, atypical for a Syrah, being well integrated and balanced. Its persistence is remarkable, with a medium length and a medium to long finish, leaving slightly olive and earthy aftertaste.
