Description
The Cinque Campi L'Artiglio wine is made with the same varieties as the Bora Lunga skin-contact, a typical local blend of Spergola (90%) and Muscat (10%). These grapes come from vineyards with particular characteristics: the soil is siliceous clay, with yields of 1.5 kilograms per plant. It is important to note that the Muscat comes from an old vineyard planted in 1948, while the Spergola vines are about 30 years old. The total production of this wine is limited, with approximately 1,000 bottles per year.
Winemaking
After manual harvesting in small crates, the grapes are macerated with their skins in steel tanks for 5 days. Subsequently, it ferments for 6 months in a stainless steel tank. The second fermentation takes place in bottles with the addition of refrigerated must from the same plot and vintage. Here, the wine spends 3 years ageing on its lees, with weekly manual stirring. No fining, filtering, or sulphur is added at any time (total sulphates <10 ppm). Finally, the wine is disgorged without any dosage.
Taste
Cinque Campi L'Artiglio is a full-bodied, fresh and mineral wine. On the palate, it displays nuances of dried flowers, sage, rosemary and grapefruit. It is a layered sparkling wine that reveals more and more with each glass, offering a tasting experience that evolves over time.
