Description
The clear red wine Emilien, produced by the winery Château Le Puy is very fine, and when tasting it you can almost feel the mild climate of the area of France where it comes from, specifically Libourne in the region of Bourdeaux.
The vines are grown on a 51-hectare plot with clay soils, predominantly silica and limestone.
Winemaking
For the production of the red wine Château Le Puy Emilien, the best grapes of the varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Malbec are selected and macerated for 15 days with their skins. The grapes are harvested by hand and aged for 24 months in old oak barrels and used oak casks.
The winegrowers in charge of making this wine apply biodynamic techniques in the process, and avoid adding sulphites or yeasts. The lunar calendar is taken into account and the wine is bottled during the waning moon, without filtering or fining.
Taste
This is a dry red wine, in which the aroma of ripe red fruits can be finely perceived on the nose and on the palate, while the finish is intense, long and quite balanced. In addition, an herbaceous aroma with a spicy touch can be noted. In the mouth it feels juicy and fresh.
A prodigious wine
The red wine Château Le Puy Emilien is an excellent accompaniment to traditional red meat roasts as well as mature cheeses. It is a young, dry and natural wine, which does not contain any chemicals and is fermented spontaneously.
