Based on the 2015 vintage and complemented by fully 50% reserve wines, Lahaye's NV Brut Nature Grand Cru is derived from holdings in Bouzy (which represents 80% of the blend) and Ambonnay, which he feels are better blended than bottled separately. Offering up a complex bouquet of yellow orchard fruit, toasted nuts and dried white flowers, the wine is medium to full-bodied, racy and precise, with fine depth at the core, a delicate mousse and a chalky, sapid finish.

Description
Benoît Lahaye Grand Cru Brut Nature is an exceptional sparkling wine that comes from Grand Cru vineyards located in Bouzy and Ambonnay. These vineyards, with an average age of 30 years, are planted on brown clay soils ranging from 40 cm to 1.5 metres deep.
Winemaking
Benoît Lahaye Grand Cru Brut Nature is composed of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, with an alcohol content of 12%. The production of this champagne is based on 55% of the vintage wine, while the other 55% are reserve wines from previous vintages. Initially, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 2 to 5 years and then given two and a half years of bottle ageing on lees (second fermentation) before its final disgorgement without dosage.
Taste
Benoît Lahaye Grand Cru Brut Nature is a very expressive champagne, with an intense nose featuring white fruits such as granny smith apple, citrus fruits and a creamy, patisserie sensation. On the palate, this wine is light and highly mineral, with an outstanding freshness and a notable influence of the lees that add creaminess. The flavour is long and balanced, with a depth and richness on the palate balanced by attractive bitterness on the finish. The complexity and maturity provided by the reserve wines and bottle ageing, together with high quality viticulture, allow this Brut Nature to achieve a perfect balance.
