There is more finesse and freshness in the 2018 Miñato da Raña and more of what I see as Ribeira Sacra character, with a combination of floral aromas and certain rusticity. The wine has a little less alcohol than the 2017 I tasted next to it, and it also has a little less acidity—so the balance is similar. It has fine-grained tannins, a medium body and a dry, long finish. The production method is similar to the 2017, and the wines show quite transparently the conditions of the vintages, which were very different. They filled 666 bottles in May 2019.

Fermented with indigenous and whole clusters in 600-litre French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation in 500-litre French oak barrels. Aged on lees for 9 months. Bottled unfined.
