There is more of everything in the 2022 Tempranillo Grano A Grano compared with the Selección Personal from this same vintage. Here, they were searching for a wine with more aging potential and more varietal typicity, selecting grapes from 70+-year-old vines from three plots—Santa Lucía (planted in 1932) and two in El Bardallo. The grapes were hand-destemmed and fermented in a 1,200-liter stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts for 11 days, and the wine matured in French oak, 80% in 500-liter barrels and the rest in 225-liter barrels, for 18 months. There's more color, aroma and perfume because the grapes were a little riper, but the wine still finished with 14% alcohol, with a good pH, 3.57, and 4.72 grams of acidity. It also has a floral note, not very common in Tempranillo, which tends to be more austere, and it has a velvety mouthfeel with very fine tannins and is fresh and balanced, with a tasty and almost salty finish. 1,712 bottles produced.

Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano is a single varietal organic Tempranillo red wine made from grapes from vines over 50 years old from the Gallocanta and La Nava vineyards in San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
Winemaking
The grapes of Abel Mendoza Tempranillo Grano a Grano are destemmed by hand in the winery. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels. Before bottling, it is matured for 18 months in French oak barrels.
