Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
With the unashamedly big and ripe 2018 Tourán, they look for concentration and aging potential without losing freshness. Wines here regularly reach 16% alcohol, even in cooler and lighter years like 2018. It has abundant toasted notes, smoke, baking spices and black olives with hints of fried corn and meat. It's full-bodied, juicy, heady and generously oaked with fine and abundant tannins, the floral character coming intermixed with the notes of toasted bread and espresso coffee. It should get polished with more time in bottle, but it's always going to be a powerful, ripe and oaky Garnacha. 2,700 bottles were filled in August 2020.

Description
Tourán is a premium red wine produced by Bodegas Morca, in the Campo de Borja DO, an Aragonese wine region renowned for the quality of its wines. This wine is produced from Grenache grapes coming from the oldest vines of the estate, located in small, low-yielding plots, which contributes to a greater concentration in the clusters.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in order to select only the best fruit. Fermentation is carried out in small tanks at controlled temperatures between 22º and 26ºC, which allows a slow and careful maceration, keeping the aromatic characteristics of the variety intact. After fermentation, the wine matures for 22 months in French oak barrels, where it acquires greater complexity and structure, and is finally bottled after a strict selection process.
Taste
In terms of its sensory profile, Tourán stands out for its aromatic intensity. Aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and plums mingle with notes of toasted oak, vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and voluminous, with fine, well-integrated tannins that give it a sensation of fullness. The flavour is concentrated, with notes of ripe fruit, graphite, liquorice and spices such as cinnamon and black pepper, which provide a spicy and complex character. The finish is long, lingering and lightly toasted, with good ageing potential, making this wine an excellent choice both to enjoy now and to cellar for the next 10 to 12 years. It is ideal for pairing with grilled meats, stews, rice dishes and cured cheeses.
This wine stands out for its exclusivity, as only limited editions are produced each year, making it a jewel for wine lovers.
