Fermented with indigenous yeasts and whole bunches in 500 and 600 litre barrels. Aged for 3 years in barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulphites.

Description

Strohmeier TLZ Wein der Stille is an authentic expression of artisanal viticulture and a passion for quality winemaking. Sourced from the Stainz vineyard, this wine has a unique composition that combines the freshness and structure of different grape varieties. The wine is composed of 90% Sauvignon blanc and 10% Chardonnay, Muskateller and Weißburgunder. The terroir of Stainz, characterised by its gneiss with high iron and silicon content, brings a distinctive minerality to the wine.

Winemaking

The grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted in the vineyard, ensuring that only the healthiest and ripest grapes are used. This selection is essential to guarantee high quality material for the extended skin contact that follows. The grapes ferment in whole bunches, including stems, in 500 and 600 litre barrels for 12 months. The skins are then pressed and the wine matures for a further 24 months in neutral barrels before bottling. The wine is unfiltered, unclarified and without the addition of sulphur.

Strohmeier TLZ Wein der Stille is a wine with a hypnotic, exciting and fascinating personality. Its texture is smooth and silky, but with a surprising depth of flavours and a crisp tannic finish. Tasting with Franz Strohmeier in the cellar, one can identify notes of jasmine, apple, almond, quince, orange, tea and dried herbs.
