The single-vineyard 2020 Mentidero from Masdache comes from a field blend where there is a little Listán Negro with a majority of Listán Blanco, Malvasía Volcánica and Diego grapes. It has a pale pink color, but in 2020, it is labeled as white. It represents the traditional way of fermenting in Lanzarote, direct pressing of all the grapes and fermenting it 50% in stainless steel and 50% in barrels, where the wine matured for six months. It has an amazing nose, with notes of aniseed and fennel, red berries and spices, herbs and flowers (gentian). It's serious and dry, expressive and tasty, with a beautifully textured medium body and a long, dry and salty finish. Only 774 bottles were filled in June 2020.

Description
The Puro Rofe winery is the personal project of Rayco Fernández and Carmelo Peña, together with a group of winegrowers who are committed to local varieties and respect for the terroir, in addition to the special volcanic soils that give way to fresh, elegant and pungent wines. These have created majestic wines that have been recognised by Roberto Parker.
Such is the case of Mentidero Masdashe, a rosé wine made from 30% Listán Negro, 30% Listán Blanca, 30% Malvasía and 10% Vijariego Blanco.
Elaboration
The varieties used to make Mentidero Masdashe wine are planted together in an incomparable lunar landscape. The vines are planted in pits 3 metres deep, which allows them to trap the humidity and protect them from the Saharan climate. The grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum point of ripeness and the agriculture is environmentally friendly.
This wine is made in parts, one half is vinified as white wine in 228 litre barrels and the other half as red wine in stainless steel. Finally, the wine is aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Finally, it is bottled without stabilisation or filtering.
Taste
Puro Rofe Mentidero Masdashe is a pale and bright rosé wine, with aromas of fresh fruits, saline touches and floral notes. In the mouth it is sharp, fresh and very mineral.

This is a wine that combines the punch of red with the seduction of white and a spectacular acidity, which invites to taste soft cheeses, appetizers and white meats. Undoubtedly, a fresh and light option to share or enjoy alone.
