The 2022 VS, a selection from their vineyards in Traspinedo and Tudela de Duero, has the added depth, definition and complexity it usually has in comparison with the regular Mauro. In the warm and dry 2022 vintage, they still managed to keep the elegance and balance through good freshness (pH is 3.5) while it does not lack ripeness and shows the character of the place and the year. The grapes are moved without pumps and fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, and the wine matured in French oak barrels for 24 months. 50,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2025.

Description
Mauro Vendimia Seleccionada is a red wine made exclusively with the Tempranillo grape variety by Bodegas Mauro under the VT Castilla-León appellation.
The grapes come from 55 hectares of vineyards between 20 and 25 years old, cultivated without herbicides, preserving the vineyard and the environment.
These vineyards are located in the municipalities of Tudela del Duero and Santibáñez de Valcorba on limestone or clay-limestone soils depending on the plots.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in small 15 kg crates, which are carefully selected. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts from the vineyard itself, followed by maceration for two or three weeks.
After maceration and fermentation, this wine is aged for 32 months in French oak barrels of American superfine grain.
Taste
Mauro is a red wine with expressive fruity aromas and mineral nuances. In the mouth it is a strong red wine with a marked structure and noble and polished tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent.
