Description
Mascarello Langhe Nebbiolo is a wine that reflects the essence and elegance of the terroir of Castiglione Falletto. This wine is made from the Nebbiolo grape variety, coming from the vineyards of Perno, on the Santo Stefano hill in the village of Monforte d'Alba (CN), and from several vineyards in Castiglione Falletto. These grapes are harvested at the beginning of October.
Winemaking
The winemaking follows a traditional style, with a submerged cap fermentation of selected grapes from the estate for 15/20 days. The wine is then matured in Slovenian oak barrels for approximately 14 months. Its cellar life is expected to be 5/6 years and it is bottled two years after the harvest.
Taste
Mascarello Langhe Nebbiolo has a garnet red colour with purple hues. On the nose, it offers a fruity aroma of ripe grapes, vinous, intense and varietal. On the palate, it is dry, round, full-bodied and tannic. Elegance is its main characteristic, with a perfect balance between fruit, acidity and tannins. It is not a concentrated wine, but dry and with a good drinkability.
