Free-run fermented with indigenous yeasts, skin soaking for 1 week, racked and finished fermenting in bottle using the ancestral method. Bottled unfined, unfiltered and without added sulphites.
Description
Le Coste Pizzicante Rosso is a naturally bottle-refermented sparkling wine made from Sangiovese and Merlot red varieties.
Winemaking
After a short maceration of one week, it is pressed and left to ferment in tanks until bottling, with the appropriate sugar to obtain a typical sparkling wine. Then, after disgorging, it is topped up with the wine from the Rosso di Gaetano cuvée.
Taste
Pizzicante Rosso stands out for its bright purple-red colour. On the nose, one can recognise clear notes of red fruits, accompanied by light spicy notes. On the palate, it is agile and sparkling, with an outstanding freshness and a very pleasant finish. It is a wine to be enjoyed immediately and it is suggested to be paired with meat-based main dishes or even with a charcuterie board.
