Dufour's Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature Avalon LR 10 is 100% Chardonnay from the jurassic chalk soils of the Avalon vineyard in Essoyes, Vallée de l'Ource (Côte des Bar). This sample was picked in 2010 and disgorged without the addition of sulfur in June 2013. Golden-yellow in color, this Brut Nature opens with an intense yet pure and chalky/salty flavored bouquet of dried white fruits, cooked stone fruits, vanilla, brioche and a dash of lime juice. Full-bodied, mouth-filling, very elegant and with a delicate mousse on the palate, this is an intense and almost juicy, yet clear, lean and very mineral Chardonnay from the first pressing. Its finish is petty long and complex, as well as stimulatingly dry, but also reveals a stunning power. This Champagne serves well as a full-bodied aperitif but also with food.

Spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in 225 liter French oak barrels. Aged for 10 months in oak barrels stirring the lees (bâtonnage). Minimum ageing of 22 months in bottle before disgorgement.
