Description
Constantina Sotelo Pelicas is a limited edition white wine produced by the winemaker Constantina Sotelo in her micro-winery located in Cambados, Galicia, in the Rías Baixas region. With more than 20 years of experience, Sotelo has developed her own style of winemaking, following traditional and minimal intervention principles.
Winemaking
The wine is mainly made from Albariño grapes, coming from vines between 30 and 40 years old. These vines are located in soils of granitic decomposition, about 600 metres from the sea, which significantly influences the character of the wine. Harvested by hand, the grapes are destemmed by hand before maceration with skins in clay amphorae, where malolactic fermentation also takes place spontaneously.
Taste
Constantina Sotelo Pelicas stands out for its elegant and fresh profile. When tasted, notes of peach, apricot and loquat stand out, accompanied by a mineral background due to the granitic soils. It is a simple, light wine, with well-balanced acidity and a smooth texture. Its fermentation process in clay amphorae gives it a distinctive character, allowing the nuances of the Albariño variety and of the artisanal production itself to be better expressed.
