Description
Clos Lentiscus Xarel.lo Domaine is a single varietal Xarel.lo white wine produced by the Clos Lentiscus winery in the Penedès DO (Catalonia) in northeastern Spain.
This wine has been crafted from vineyards that are located in a protected site: the Garraf Natural Park, planted on calcareous soils and cultivated under the principles of biodynamic agriculture.
Winemaking
For the production of this white wine, the grapes are harvested by hand and previously selected on the vineyard. After a 24-hour maceration of the skins and a delicate pressing, the grapes are fermented in 300-litre terracotta amphorae.
Subsequently, the white wine rests in these same amphorae for 7 months with periodic "bâttonages".
This wine is gently filtered to maintain its maximum expression.
Taste
Clos Lentiscus Xarel.lo Domaine has intense fruity aromas. Fresh on the palate, with a savoury, friendly and very pleasant passage, it has an acidic structure with slightly vegetal characteristics on the palate, tasty and fresh, a white wine to be enjoyed slowly!

Xarel-lo is a grape from Catalonia, it is one of the most widely planted varieties in the region that stands out as one of the best white wine varieties in Spain. It is used to make various styles of wine.
In Catalan, the name of the variety is written with a dot between the dots (Xarel-lo), but in other languages it is replaced by a hyphen (Xarel-lo) or deleted altogether (Xarel-lo).
In gastronomic terms, this wine is perfect for romantic dinners, dinners with friends on special occasions and to accompany white fish, sushi, rice dishes and stewed meats.
