The Clos Lentiscus Sumoll Reserva de la Familia Blanc de Noir Brut Nature had a copper color and an intriguing and complex nose, mixing yeasty and autolysis notes with some red berry hints. The palate showed good integration of the bubbles (it was kept in bottle for some 25 months) and sharp acidity. It finished very dry.

Description
Clos Lentiscus Reserva Familia Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is a sparkling wine made exclusively with the Sumoll variety by the Clos Lentiscus winery in the Penedès DO (Catalonia).
This wine has been crafted from old vines planted in 1939 on the La Torrentera estate in the Garraf Massif Natural Park, on sandy-limestone soils, using biodynamic techniques.
Winemaking
To make this sparkling wine, the grapes were harvested by hand. The grapes were cooled overnight before being delicately pressed to prevent the must from acquiring any pigmentation.
For the vinification process, indigenous yeasts were used. Once the alcoholic fermentation was completed, the cuvée rested for a short period of time in oak barrels.
The second fermentation in the bottle lasts for a period of 30 months following the strict champagne method, after which the wine is disgorged. This sparkling wine has a residual sugar content of less than 2 g/l.

It has a very pleasant palate, fresh and mineral, very good acidity, very fine, long, balsamic and aromatic background. Highly recommended!

Clos Lentiscus Reserva Familia Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is a reserve sparkling wine made from the Sumoll red grape variety.
Sumoll is the most preserved indigenous red grape variety and, in its day, the most widespread red grape variety in the wide Penedés DO.
In the gastronomic field, this wine is perfect for business lunches and to accompany smoked fish, white fish, seafood, rice dishes and stewed meats.
