Winemaking
Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve is a masterpiece of winemaking, the result of meticulous attention and noted for its unconventional character. It is made up of 80% of the wines of the year, equally distributed between Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay. The remaining 20% are reserve wines, equally composed of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with an average age of 5 years. This cuvée is therefore composed of 40% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Meunier. Each variety is vinified cru por cru in stainless steel tanks. To add complexity and richness, 6% of red wines from the Champagne region are added. The wine benefits from a slow and prolonged maturation of 3 to 4 years, well beyond the region's norms.
Taste
To the eye it presents a sophisticated powdery pink colour with bright wild rose nuances. Its delicate and lively bubbles are the result of an ageing period of more than 48 months. On the nose, it is subtle yet complex, revealing initial fragrances of homemade strawberry jam mingled with the fruitiness of vineyard peach, complemented by warm velvety notes of gingerbread. On the palate, it is deep and powerful, offering an explosion of strawberry, raspberry and blackberry, wrapped in whipped cream.
