Juanjo Moreno and Maribel Rodriguez are behind the Microbodega Rodríguez Morán. Although they have a small production, they always try to make great natural wines while respecting the environment.
Microbodega Rodríguez Morán's vineyard
After years of training and apprenticeship, Juanjo decided to plant two hectares in 1999. He formally studied oenology and viticulture at the IMIA at the El El Elcin estate, but he considers himself a self-taught man, an eternal lover of agriculture and life in the countryside. When he was a boy, he helped his grandfather work the six hectares of vineyards he owned in Villamor de los Escuderos (Zamora), in the northwestern Spanish region of Castilla y León. Now, Juanjo has added his naturalist touch. Of course, no chemical treatments, both in the work of the land, the vines, and in the winery.
The family has two priorities when it comes to making their wines: healthy and naturally tasty. They were the first to call themselves a 'microbodega' in the state. After 12 harvests in the garage of their house, they decided to move to a macro space to be able to continue making quality artisan wines, and also to develop activities to share experiences and moments. The idea is to be able to exchange information and knowledge with professionals and friends.
