The 2021 Mentidero comes from a single vineyard in the village of Masdache, a place with a history for this wine in the past, so they decided to keep it separately. They use all the grapes, a majority of Listán Blanco, Malvasía Volcánica and Diego and even the small percentage of red Listán Negro, so the wine has a little deeper color. It's more austere than the village Masdache, a little rougher, with lovely rusticity, and the sharp character from the vintage. Despite the year, it's a little higher in alcohol, 13%, reflecting slow ripening, which also meant full development of aromas and flavors.

Description
Puro Rofe Mentidero is the project of Rayco Fernández, Carmelo Peña and a group of winemakers who have focused on respecting local varieties. It is a very fresh wine, sharp and elegant at the same time, the result of very special volcanic soils.
This wine is aged in wood in French oak barrels, planted in vineyards with an unparalleled lunar landscape. The vines are planted in pits 3 metres deep to trap the humidity, respecting the environment and the grape harvest.
Winemaking
To make Puro Rofe Mentidero wine, the grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum moment of ripening, maintaining its philosophy of agriculture that respects the environment. It is made in parts and the grapes are pressed; 50% in barrels and the other 50% in stainless steel tanks.
It has a great variety of red grapes, which are not destemmed, with spontaneous fermentation and subsequent maturation. Finally, it remains in the cellar until it is well refined and is bottled unfiltered and unstabilised.
Taste
The Puro Rofe Mentidero wine has a bright pink colour with aromas of fresh fruit, small notes of red fruit and saline touches. On the palate it is fresh and mineral, earthy, vibrant and long.
