Description
Goliardo Caiño is an aged red wine produced in the Rías Baixas by the Bodega Forjas del Salnés winery.
Only the Caiño Tinto grape is used in the production of Goliardo Caiño. This variety is almost extinct, and comes from very old vines planted near the sea; this characteristic gives a special salty taste to the wine.
Winemaking
Fermentation is carried out under temperature control in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in 225-litre French oak barrels, after which the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
Flavour
In the mouth it has a pleasant entry with a lively and vigorous acidity and a very balanced tannin. It is elegant and silky on the palate. It is a persistent and long wine, with hints of fruit, flowers and fine spices.

Goliardo Caiño is the product of the experience of Rodrigo Méndez together with the famous oenologist Raúl Pérez. It is a traditional wine that the Forjas del Salnés winery has been able to elaborate and update in a magnificent way.
Given its own characteristics, this crianza red wine from Rías Baixas has managed to surprise both nationally and internationally. At the same time, it has achieved extraordinary scores in a multitude of guides and competitions all over the world.
In the gastronomic field it is wonderful in a special dinner, a dinner with friends and in the enjoyment of meals such as rice with meat, caldereta, roast red meats and with sauce, stews, stews, legumes, roast veal and vegetables stuffed with meat, among others.
