Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
This Langenlois wine comes from the coolish Steinberg, which combines bedrock with limestone soils, and was vinified in 300-liter barrels for five months, then disgorged after 50 months on the bottle lees in June of this year. The 2017 Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs Grosse Reserve offers a deep, clear, pure and elegant but most of all complex bouquet of luscious, ripe Chardonnay that fascinates with many layers. Aeration would really help to open up this superb sparkling wine. Full-bodied, intense and powerful but also pure and saline on the still young and even somewhat phenolic finish, this is a rich and generous but also refined and elegant sparkling wine bottled with 12.5% stated alcohol. Please aerate this, because it has a nice reduction and any phenols will oxidize in a decanter. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022.

Description
Bründlmayer Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs is a sparkling wine produced from Chardonnay grapes from different vineyards of the winery, mainly those located on southeast-facing slopes with chalky soils. These soils bring warmth and, at the same time, freshness to the wine.
The grapes were harvested in September, at the exact point of acidity and ripeness, and then placed in small boxes to be gently pressed in the cellar.
Winemaking
Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. Subsequently, 10% of the wine is racked into used Austrian oak barrels and casks of 2 to 3 years old, 300 and 2,500 litres. The following year, the base wine is bottled, together with yeast and sugar, for secondary fermentation and moustage using the champenoise method. The wine remains in contact with the lees for at least 36 months before being stirred and finally disgorged.
Taste
Bründlmayer Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs is complex, with aromas of fresh green apples, flower nectar and ripe lime, accompanied by a note of lightly toasted brioche. The persistent bubbles and elegant acidity, full of saline freshness, provide a vibrant entry on the palate and form the backbone. It is dense and compact, with more hints of ripe green apples. Despite its richness, it has a fine structure, presenting itself clean and direct, with a refreshing, long-lasting finish.
Ideal with oysters, tapas, antipasti, prawns, salmon tartare, fish and poultry.
