The 2022 Morgon Cuvée Marcel Lapierre, coming from vines averaging 100 years old planted in the Côte du Py and the lieu-dit 'Le Douby,' offers a lush blue-hued nose of marionberries, blueberries, lilac, licorice, thyme and cloves. It's medium to full-bodied with ample concentration and a juicy core of blue and black berry fruit. The wine retains freshness with ripe acids and herbal tones of eucalyptus and mint, with a pleasant delineation along the mid-palate and finish.

Marcel Lapierre Morgon Cuvée Marcel Lapierre is a wine produced exclusively in exceptional years. This wine is made from centenary vines located in the Côte du Py and in the place known as "Le Douby", near Fleurie. The grapes are of the Gamay variety, and come from a vineyard covering approximately 2.5 hectares.
Winemaking
The production of Marcel Lapierre Morgon Cuvée Marcel Lapierre follows traditional methods, with a semi-carbonic maceration without adding sulphites or yeasts. This process is carried out in wooden vats for 24 days, followed by ageing in old 216-litre barrels for 9 months. Finally, it is bottled without filtration and with minimal addition of sulphites.
