The Parmantier Frère & Soeur Winery is located between the French villages and communes of Merfy and Chamery 1er cru, historic lands in the Champagne-Ardenne region, department of Marne, in the district of Reims and canton of Bourgogne in France.
The winery produces its wines under the organic and biodynamic label, under the direction of two siblings, Celia and Stéphane Parmantier.
The vineyards
The vineyards of the Parmantier Frère & Soeur winery are planted south and south-west facing on clay loam soils; other varieties are grown on sandy and silty clay soils.
In this winery, biodiversity is respected, and the vineyards are cultivated with little or no intervention in an environmentally conscious manner.
The vines are cultivated using biodynamic techniques, which is a responsible way of cultivating the vines and protecting the soil.
On the other hand, the work carried out through organic cultivation is aimed at obtaining the greatest satisfaction of wine lovers and care for the environment.
Winemaking
The wines of the Parmantier Frère & Soeur winery are vinified and aged in oak barrels using indigenous yeasts without any oenological input and filtered.
The wine is moved by gravity, thus preserving the most fragile aromas.
Indigenous yeasts are used during fermentation. Furthermore, no chemical additions, fining or filtration are carried out.
The different varieties with which this winery works and with which it makes its wines are Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.
Wines
Among their wines are the following:
Parmantier Les Couarres Brut Nature, a champagne with a long ageing in bottle.
Parmantier Les Oriseaux Brut Nature is a white wine with a complexity of fruity and floral aromas.
Parmantier Le Caqueray 1er Cru Extra Brut, a white wine made from Chardonnay, is also produced.
Finally, we have Parmantier Côteaux Champenois Rouge de Chamery, which is a red wine made with the Meunier variety.
All these are highly recommended wines!
Each of these wines has its own personality, they are faithful to their landscape, and express all the aromas and sensations of the land where they were born.
And you, have you tried any of these unique natural wines from the Parmantier Frère & Soeur winery? Leave us your comments!
