Buy Wine from Bodegas Jiménez Landi
Bodegas Jiménez Landi is the adventure of two cousins, José Benavides Jiménez Landi and Daniel Gómez Jiménez-Landi, who joined their oenological knowledge to launch their final degree project in the year 2004. It is absolutely a pleasure to enjoy their wines as they are really something unusual, extraordinary. It's a pity they have so high prices, because one would never stop drinking!
With only 27 hectares at Sierra de Gredos (Toledo) they produce wines under the designation of origin Méntrida in Mediterranean continental climate of very warm summers and cold winters with sporadic frosts. The majestic Sierra de Gredos borders Ávila and Madrid provinces and the soils where the old Garnacha vines are settled are of clay-sandy granitic origin.
Talking about Jiménez Landi is talking doubly about Garnacha, as they have been proving for some years now a clear mastery in this variety, untamed and generous that, given a good control of the grapevine, may surprise us with a considerable degree of fresh maturity…. Real fresh!
Such skill do Jiménez Landi have so they decided to set going another parallel project, named Comando G. If you are a good Garnacha enthusiast, don't hesitate anymore, you need a Jiménez Landi wine in your collection. That said, their wines only bring along finesse, elegance, freshness and balance. Forget about alcoholic, liquored and heavy Garnacha wines that tend to be boring.
A heavenly music comes from these five wines: Sotorrondero is a blend of Syrah and Garnacha supplied by five plots from Méntrida village. Slender violets, wild strawberries and plums whispering in your ear…. Piélago is a biodynamic Garnacha from El Real de San Vicente town. A Provence style wine with the spiced scents of the French countryside. Ataulfos will take you to Heaven. Pure saline ecstasy! The End is perhaps the most complex wine of them all. It furnishes a lot of nuances so you have to be careful and patient. And finally Las Uvas de la Ira will make you shiver with delight. A white Albillo wine with mineral personality and huge acidity.
Bodegas Jiménez Landi, speechless!
