Skin contact for 4 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeasts. Aged for 8 months in used 500 litre oak and acacia barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulphites.
Description
Strohmeier TLZ Karmin comes from the vineyards of Bad Gams, a terroir characterised by gneiss with significant iron and silica content. This wine is made from the Blauer Wildbacher grape variety, a grape variety that brings unique and distinctive characteristics to the final wine.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring a rigorous selection of only those that are in perfect health and maturity. Once harvested, they are destemmed and crushed, allowing 3 hours of skin contact. This process enhances the flavours and aromas of the wine. Subsequently, the wine is gently pressed, fermented spontaneously and matured for 12 months in 500 litre wooden barrels, most of which are made of oak and a small part of acacia. This wine does not undergo fining or filtering, and no sulphur is added, thus preserving its purest and most natural essence.
Taste
Strohmeier TLZ Karmin comes in a colour range from light red to deep, passionate pink. The wine is a mystical rosé, smoky and strongly mineral. Its taste is slightly effervescent, with acid tannins and a complex structure. On the palate, one can perceive notes of unripe strawberries and a finish reminiscent of the smell of gunpowder or fireworks.
