Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Gimonnet's NV 1er Cru Brut Rosé de Blancs is made from Chardonnay with 6% red wine from Pinot Noir, and represents the light, fresh and refined Gimmonet style in pink. The version based on 2012 (disgorged in 12/2014 with 6.5 grams dosage) shows lovely red currant flavors and is very vivacious, mineral and delicate on the palate. It is enjoyed at its best when fresh.

Description
Pierre Gimonnet & Fils is a renowned Champagne house that has remained faithful to the purity and elegance of its Blanc de Blancs, being a benchmark in the Champagne region. With its cuvée Pierre Gimonnet Rosé de Blancs 1er Cru Brut, the winery adds a touch of fantasy, preserving its classic signature but with a new fruity expression. This wine is made from 93% Chardonnay from the best crus of the Côte des Blancs, complemented by 7% Pinot Noir Grand Cru from Bouzy. The vineyards are spread over prestigious plots such as Chouilly, Cramant, Oger and Cuis, which are characterised by chalky soils, ideal for vine cultivation, giving this wine its distinctive minerality.
Winemaking
In terms of winemaking, Pierre Gimonnet Rosé de Blancs 1er Cru Brut follows a careful process that includes manual harvesting and fractional pressing, as well as temperature-controlled fermentation and malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged on the lees for 18 months in the bottle, before being disgorged and having a dosage of 5 g/L of sugar, which gives it a perfect balance between freshness and elegance.
Taste
On the palate, Pierre Gimonnet Rosé de Blancs 1er Cru Brut surprises with its salivating and fresh character. Notes of red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry predominate, followed by hints of citrus fruits such as orange and lemon. The fine, delicate bubbles add texture, while the finish is long and vibrant, leaving a sensation of freshness and minerality. Undoubtedly, an atypical and charming Champagne that reflects the personality of its vineyards and the know-how of the Gimonnet house.
