Luis Pérez Petit Verdot, a wine of marked personality and power, is one of the great classics of Bodegas Luis Pérez. This wine, made from 100% Petit Verdot grapes, represents the essence of quality viticulture. The Petit Verdot grape, known for its intensity and concentration, is cultivated with techniques that include short pruning and cluster thinning, avoiding the use of herbicides to achieve the maximum expression of the vineyard.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand during the night, using small boxes to guarantee the quality of the grapes. Once in the winery, the grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard and on the sorting table. The elaboration of Luis Pérez Petit Verdot involves a meticulous process: vatting by gravity, 100% destemming, and fermentation in open barrels. This method aims to preserve the elegance of the wine, despite the high concentration of the grapes. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels, where the wine remains for 12 to 16 months in used French oak over 3 years old.
