The 2021 La Solana comes from a vineyard of Listán Negro pruned in the cordón trenzado way at 350 to 450 meters in altitude. It fermented in concrete with 50% full clusters and had 22 days of maceration. It matured in used 500-liter barrels for 12 months. It has a moderate 12% alcohol and is fruit-driven and expresses the slightly deeper soil. It's a broader wine, aromatic and floral, while keeping the volcanic character. The palate is very balanced, harmonious and expressive, with tannins becoming polished. 8,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2022.

Description
Suertes del Marqués La Solana is a wine made from the Listán Negro grape variety, which comes from vines over 100 years old, located at an altitude of up to 400 metres above sea level.
La Solana is unique in that the cultivation of these vineyards is carried out using a unique manual technique in the removal of the fruit, which guarantees the peculiar flavour that distinguishes it.
Elaboration
The vines used to produce this marvellous wine grow in soils that are not very fertile, due to the fact that they are formed in volcanic rock, which contributes to the minerality and fruity flavour of the wine.
The harvested grapes are placed in small concrete barrels, with a particular curved shape, which are kept open for cold maceration.
The fruit is regularly moved by hand while fermentation takes place in a natural way. This process is carried out in French oak barrels, where they are then left to rest for 10 to 12 months.
Like many of this winery's wines, it is bottled unfiltered to guarantee its characteristic texture.

Suertes del Marqués La Solana is a red wine that is classified as smooth, with a fruity flavour that is balanced with notes of damp earth. When tasting it you will enjoy a pleasant, juicy nectar, with a refreshing acidity that rests on a mineral background.
A fresh, complex red wine with a single plot.
It is a very easy to drink wine due to its particular freshness, maintaining a mineral background and an acidity that denotes the ageing in oak barrels. It is the perfect accompaniment for white meats, red meats and dishes that include rice as an ingredient.
