Description
Rarely do chance and conviction give rise to something so authentic. Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori, an architect and a town planner of Italian origin, came to the Baix Penedès looking for a simpler life connected with nature. What they found were old abandoned vineyards, limestone soils rich in history, and an environment that was crying out to breathe again. Thus Partida Creus was born, almost as an act of resistance to the homogenisation of modern wine. Partida Creus Natural White is a liquid manifesto of this philosophy: to recover forgotten varieties, to vinify without artifice, and to let the grape, the land and time speak for themselves.
Partida Creus Natural White is made with a mosaic of native varieties -80% Macabeu, 10% Xarel.lo and 10% Garnacha Blanca-all of them from old vines grown organically, without pesticides or herbicides. The Mediterranean climate of the Baix Penedès, with its sunny days and cool nights thanks to the proximity of the sea, creates the perfect balance between ripeness and acidity. Here the soils are mostly calcareous-clayey, and the marine influence gives the wine an unmistakable tension and salinity. Each variety is harvested separately, respecting its optimum ripening point.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Each variety is fermented separately and spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and 300-litre butts. After fermentation, the final blending is carried out. Partida Creus Blanco Natural is then aged for 8 months in 300-litre barrels, followed by an additional 1 month in stainless steel tanks before bottling. It is not clarified, filtered or sulphites added, keeping its purest and most natural expression intact.
Taste
Partida Creus Natural White is light, crisp, unabashedly fresh. The first sip is like a breath of Mediterranean air: fennel, lemon peel, green apple and a floral touch reminiscent of the countryside in spring. But what makes it special is its texture: juicy, somewhat saline, with a vibrant acidity that invites you to keep drinking. It is not a white wine to analyse, it is a wine to feel. And to share without rules.
