The Vinyes Singulars project of natural wines was born in 2011, but it all really began six centuries ago, in 1405. The Cal Batlle estate, located in the Penedès, traditionally a wine-growing region, is a family inheritance. It extends over an area of 120 hectares, made up of different crops and ecosystems.
Vinyes Singulars vineyard
Although they own 34 hectares of vineyards, which are their main crop, they also grow cereals, vegetables, olives and other fruit trees. Of these vineyards, 6.5 were planted more than 60 years ago by their ancestors. They practice organic farming and defend the balance between human activity, animals and plants. Maximum respect for the environment. They work with traditional and autochthonous varieties, such as Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Sumoll, Sumoll Blanc, Parellada, Garnatxa Blanca and Malvasia, always in search of the full typical representation of the grape and the terroir.
Wines of Vinyes Singulars
Vinyes Singulars uses amphorae to age some of their wines. This allows the freshness of the grapes to be preserved, thus preventing the wood from interfering with the typicality. They make sincere wines, with great terroir, which invite you to explore their territory, their estate, their land in the healthiest and most natural way possible with the minimum intervention. Among their favourite bottles we can find the non-crianza white Vinyes Singulars Pim Pam 2019, light and crisp, ideal for an aperitif and for pairing with sushi. It is made from xarel.lo, sumoll blanco, parellada, macabeo, malvasía and garnacha blanca grapes. Alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks.Vinyes Singulars Xarel.lo Àmfora 2017 is a 100% biodynamic xarel.lo fermented in amphorae. It is a favourite for a romantic dinner to pair with a variety of salads and white fish. Finally, their biodynamic orange wine, Vinyes Singulars Garnatxa Blanca 2018 is the aged white wine of choice for a good dinner with friends. At the winery, it is macerated on skins for three weeks and aged for four months in chestnut barrels. All of its bottlings are unclarified, unfiltered and without added sulphites.
