The juicy, creamy and fresh 2020 Orben is in the process of getting organic certification. It's Tempranillo from different plots in the Rioja Alavesa, each fermented separately with indigenous yeasts, since 2020 with some stems, and matured in Darnajou and Taransaud barrels, 50% new and 50% second-use, for 14 months. It's ripe without excess, with 14.54% alcohol, power and concentration coupled with freshness and balance. 47,965 bottles and 500 magnums were produced. It was bottled in April 2022.

Description
Orben is a red wine produced by Bodegas Orben in La Rioja. Its content reflects in an incredible way the characteristics of Tempranillo and the very small contribution of Graciano.
The grapes come from a selection of vineyards planted between 1945 and 1954 in a clayey, chalky soil and under climatic conditions that are ideal for the grapes to ripen optimally in the surroundings of Laguardia.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in 15 kg crates and sorted on sorting tables. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation in new barrels and stainless steel tanks.
Ageing takes place in French grain oak barrels for 12 months, which results in a single varietal with a great amount of tannins and a lot of complexity.
Taste
Orben stands out for its complex, persistent flavours and aromatic finish. In the mouth it is fleshy and stands out for its fruity expression, spicy, ripe tannins and meticulous French oak work.

Orben is produced from a careful selection of old vineyards in Rioja Alavesa, between Villabuena and Laguardia. Its exquisiteness emerges with a very marked personality.
Moreover, this red wine combines traditional methods with the most modern practices, obtaining the strength and intensity of a modern and original wine, the product of the best vintages.
In the gastronomic field, it is the perfect accompaniment for stewed and flavoured white meats, small and big game, mushrooms and sheep's cheeses, kid and chops cooked over vine shoots.
